Information has been revealed regarding a series of alleged crimes, including contract killings, committed by suspected crime gang member Gamage Saranga Pradeep, alias "Welle Saranga", who was arrested in Dubai.
Welle Saranga, a suspect wanted by police in connection with several crimes including murder, was recently arrested based on information provided by Director of the Central Crime Investigation Bureau Senior Superintendent of Police Kamal Ariyawansha and intelligence officers who had gone to arrest "Bus Lalith".
Accordingly, it is reported that the arrested suspect is scheduled to be brought back to Sri Lanka within the next few weeks.
In August 2020, Welle Saranga was arrested by the Colombo Crime Division while attempting to flee abroad through Katunayake Airport, and it is reported that he subsequently escaped secretly to Dubai while out on bail.
