Sri Lanka's expressways generated a record revenue of more than Rs. 355 million during the five-day holiday period last week.
That’s according to Road Development Authority Director General Anuradha Hettiarachchi.
The Road Development Authority recorded total earnings of over Rs. 408 million from vehicles using the expressway network during the past week.
Official figures show that 1,095,895 vehicles travelled on the Southern Expressway, Colombo–Katunayake Expressway, Colombo Outer Circular Highway, and Central Expressway between the 24th and 30th August.
