Strong winds forecast in several sea areas

Wind speeds in the sea areas from Kankesanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Hambantota to Potuvil could increase up to 50 to 60 kilometres per hour, the Department of Meteorology said.

Issuing a warning announcement, the department stated that the relevant sea areas could be rough from time to time.

The Department of Meteorology requested the fishing and naval communities to pay attention when operating in those sea areas for this reason.
