Remanded Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna National Organiser Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has been granted permission to attend tomorrow's (08) parliamentary session.
Department of Prisons Media Spokesperson, Prison Commissioner Senaka Palletenna, stated that he will be escorted to Parliament following permission granted by the Speaker.
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna submitted this request to Speaker Dr Jagath Wickramaratne in a letter sent via the Opposition Leader's Office, seeking permission for Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa to attend upcoming parliamentary sittings.
Meanwhile, Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has been permitted to receive meals from home, following a request made by his family relatives.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa visited Welikada Prison today to inquire after the well-being of Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.
