Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Uva, Central, and Eastern provinces and Polonnaruwa district after 2.00 pm, the Department of Meteorology stated issuing a communique.
Fairly heavy rain above 75 mm may occur at some places in Uva and Eastern provinces, according to the statement.
Several spells of showers may occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
The department requested the public to take necessary measures to minimise harm caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thundershowers.
