Special majority required to pass Institute of Chartered Media Professionals bill

A special majority is required to pass the bill titled "Institute of Chartered Media Professionals of Sri Lanka" as certain clauses are inconsistent with the Constitution, the Supreme Court informed.

The bill can be passed with a simple majority if those clauses are removed, the Supreme Court informed, Speaker stated in Parliament today (08).
