A warning announcement regarding strong winds and rough seas was issued for the sea areas extending from Hambantota to Potuvil.
Wind speeds in the sea areas off the coast from Hambantota to Potuvil may increase up to 50 to 60 kilometres per hour at times, and those sea areas may become rough at times, the Department of Meteorology stated.
Naval and fishing communities operating in those sea areas were requested by the Department of Meteorology to remain vigilant regarding this matter.
