Rain expected in several areas

Department of Meteorology forecasts showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts today (10).

Rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Mullaitivu district after 2:00 pm.

The department requests the public to take necessary precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
