The Consumer Affairs Authority has stipulated that bakery owners and traders selling bread must display the weight of bread in a location clearly visible to consumers.
Under existing standards, a full loaf of bread must weigh 450 grams, while the standard weight for half a loaf is fixed at 225 grams.
The directive comes as authorities carried out raids over the past few days targeting traders involved in selling underweight bread to the public.
