The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has launched a comprehensive programme aimed at significantly reducing the time members of the public spend when obtaining services at its offices.
Speaking on the initiative, Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, Retired Air Vice Marshal Thushara Fernando, stated that discussions have been held with all departmental commissioners to streamline operations and ensure service delivery within the shortest possible timeframe.
Addressing existing delays, the Commissioner General noted that visitors arriving at the department as early as 7:00 am or 8:00 am previously spent several hours on site, with some leaving as late as 2:00 pm.
Under the newly implemented measures, the department aims to enhance customer service standards and guarantee that all required services are completed within a maximum of two and a half hours.
