Two individuals died following separate sharp weapon attacks in the Yakkalamulla and Kotahena police divisions yesterday (14), according to the Police Headquarters.
In the Moraketiya area within the Yakkalamulla police division, a 54-year-old resident of Yakkalamulla was attacked with a sharp weapon and killed following an argument stemming from a long-standing dispute. Yakkalamulla Police have arrested a 27-year-old suspect in connection with the murder and are conducting further investigations.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old resident of Wellampitiya died after being admitted to the National Hospital of Sri Lanka in Colombo with severe injuries following a sharp weapon attack in Kotahena town. Initial investigations revealed that two individuals carried out the attack following a personal dispute. Kotahena Police have identified the suspects and are conducting further inquiries to effect their arrest.
