President opens Iranamadu runway

The refurbished Iranamadu airstrip which once belonged to the LTTE was reopened today.

 

This was under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

 

Accordingly the Iranamadu airstrip will be added to the runways of the Sri Lanka Air Force.

 

Air Force Media Spokesperson Air Commodore Andy Wijesuriya explained about the importance of the Iranamadu runway.

Meanwhile, the A 9 Road from Kandy to Colombo which is 321 Kilometers in length which was reconstructed at a cost of 2.02 Billion Rupees is also to be handed over to the public today.
