Minasro College wins Peoples Excellency Award

Minasro College, recently honoured with the Peoples Excellency Award for its outstanding contribution to preschool and primary education, successfully held its Fourth Annual Sports Meet on February 8, 2026, at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The national level recognition, together with the successful organisation of the sports meet, reaffirmed the school’s strong commitment to its educational vision and holistic student development. The Peoples Excellency Award recognises the school’s dedication to providing a balanced and comprehensive education for students at preschool and primary levels.

The award highlights Minasro College’s mission to nurture confident and capable citizens from rural communities with internationally competitive skills. This achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of the school’s directors, Dr Major Anura Kannangara and Pushpa Hettiarachchi, along with the dedicated teaching and administrative staff.

Under the theme “Good Start, Grow Smart,” Minasro College continues to build a comprehensive education system that integrates academic excellence, character development and physical skills.

Meanwhile, the Minasro Matugama branch is scheduled to open in March with a fully equipped and secure new campus, further expanding the institution’s footprint and access to quality education.
