Spirit Airlines prepares to cease operations overnight

Bankrupt discount carrier Spirit ​Airlines is preparing ‌to cease operations around 3 ​a.m. on ​Saturday (0700 GMT), two people ⁠close to ​the discussions, who ​declined to be named as the information ​is private, ​told Reuters late on ‌Friday.

One ⁠of the people said that Spirit board ​meeting ​ended ⁠without an agreement to ​rescue the ​company.
