Nüwa Hotel at City of Dreams targets Forbes rating after securing five-star milestone

The Nüwa Hotel at City of Dreams Sri Lanka is now planning to pursue a Five-Star rating in the Forbes Travel Guide (FTG) 2026 Star Awards, further strengthening its position among the world’s leading luxury hospitality destinations.

This follows the hotel receiving a five-star rating last week, said Michael Habashi, General Manager – Property.

He further noted that the Forbes certification would provide significant additional marketing mileage, particularly in attracting more high-end international visitors and premium luxury travellers to Sri Lanka.

The hotel is maintaining strong year-round occupancy, with an average guest stay of around three nights. It also features high-end luxury suites priced at around USD 2,500, making it one of the highest room rates for any city hotel in Colombo’s hospitality market.

Senior leadership from City of Dreams Sri Lanka, including Hotel Manager Thakshila Galappaththy, Kamal Munasinghe Chief Operating Officer and Chamika Karunaratne, Head of Marketing at City of Dreams Sri Lanka shared perspectives on Nüwa’s journey and its vision for setting new global standards in personalized ultra-luxury hospitality experiences across the region at the event.

Professor Ruwan Ranasinghe, Deputy Minister of Tourism, and Buddhika Hewawasam, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) also attend it.

Meanwhile, Nüwa Manila and Nüwa Spa at City of Dreams Manila have once again secured Five-Star ratings in the Forbes Travel Guide 2026 Star Awards, marking their ninth and seventh wins respectively, and reaffirming their place among the world’s leading luxury destinations.
