CSE opens trading floor for an investor forum June 25

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) announces a new series of country-wide investor forums.

The first will be held on the trading floor of the CSE at the World Trade Centre in Sinhala on 25 June 2026 commencing at 5.00 pm

The CSE will open the trading floor to those interested in investing in the stock market from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Representatives from stockbrokering firms and unit trust associations will be present to open accounts.

The first two-hundred participants who open an account on the day itself are eligible to enter a raffle draw for an investment coupon.

The forum, which is free of cost to participants, will feature members of the CSE, SEC, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), representatives of leading stockbroker firms & unit trust associations, bringing together stakeholders from across the Sri Lankan capital market to provide a comprehensive overview of the capital market for potential investors in the greater Colombo area.

The main feature of each of the forum will be an interactive panel discussion with the participation of members of the SEC, CSE, leading stock-brokering firms and unit trust associations.

The forum will aim to raise financial literacy and awareness on the investor protection frameworks in place, educate the public on how to invest in the stock market through either a broker or a unit trust association, and give participants the tools to leverage opportunities in the capital market.

Participants will gain access to a series of sessions offered by representatives from the CBSL, leading stockbrokers and unit trust associations, providing in-depth insights into Sri Lanka’s capital market, macro-economic outlook, sectoral performance and market outlook and a comprehensive overview of unit trusts.

At the forum participants will get the chance to meet representatives of stockbrokering firms and unit trust associations.

The Colombo Investor Forum will start off a nation-wide drive to raise investor education and financial literacy, showcase the capital market and extend its reach through CSE’s nation-wide presence.

Interested parties can register for the forum on the CSE website.
