Sierra Cables PLC has formally announced a major capital expenditure of 3,229,760 US dollars aimed at broadening its export production capacity.
The strategic initiative follows strong, sustained demand for the firm's products in international markets. In an official corporate disclosure to the Colombo Stock Exchange, the company stated that its Board of Directors has authorised the allocation of funds to procure new machinery and upgrade its industrial facilities.
The filing was submitted in accordance with Appendix 8A of the Listing Rules of the Colombo Stock Exchange.
The extensive capacity expansion project aims to meet the rising global demand for Sierra Cables' products.
According to the corporate filing, the investment is expected to roughly double the company's current export production capacity, providing the manufacturer with much greater scope to serve international customers and aggressively expand its global footprint.
The physical execution of the expansion project is slated for completion by the end of the 2026/27 financial year.
Management aims to have the upgraded infrastructure and machinery fully operational commercially by 1 April 2027, marking the start of the 2027/28 financial year.
The update underscores Sierra Cables' emphasis on capturing international demand as a primary driver of growth.
By doubling its manufacturing capabilities, the firm is strengthening its position to secure a larger share of the global cable and wire market while building on its ongoing momentum.
