Indian actor-politician Pawan Kalyan‘s “They Call Him OG 2″ is officially happening.
Pawan Kalyan Creative Works confirmed to Variety that the the sequel is in active development, with the shoot expected to commence after November this year. Discussions will begin as soon as director Sujeeth returns from abroad.
The production house addressed the timeline directly on X. “As promised, he will. The timing, he will let us know. Once @Sujeethsign returns from abroad, we will discuss,” the post read.
The announcement builds on the success of “They Call Him OG,” the Telugu-language crime action drama released in 2025. The film follows Ojas Gambheera, a retired gangster who resurfaces in Bombay in 1993 after a decade in exile to confront a rising crime lord, Omi Bhau. Produced by DVV Entertainment, it grossed $35 million, emerging as the ninth-highest-grossing Indian film of 2025.
The result added another entry to a career defined by outsized commercial performances. Kalyan’s “Gabbar Singh” (2012) marked a blockbuster comeback, while “Attarintiki Daredi” (2013) was the highest-grossing Telugu film of its time, and “Vakeel Saab” (2021) and “Bheemla Nayak” (2022) both drew strong returns in the post-pandemic period.
Sujeeth, who previously directed “Saaho,” wrote and directed “They Call Him OG,” shaping the character of Ojas Gambheera around Pawan Kalyan’s screen image. Composer Thaman S, working with Kalyan for the fourth time, provided a score that drove much of the film’s commercial energy. Production took place in between Kalyan’s political commitments following his appointment as Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister.
With Sujeeth’s return now the trigger for sequel discussions to begin formally, the next chapter for Ojas Gambheera moves from rumor into confirmed territory.
