Meghan Markle is eyeing a return to the screen as she and Prince Harry move back to the U.K., Variety has confirmed.
Following the shock announcement on Wednesday that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are returning to England after six years in California, Australian outlet News.com.au reported on Friday morning that Meghan has been “offered a role in an upcoming project based in the U.K.” Sources close to the Sussexes have not denied this report, though further details are being kept under wraps for now.
Meghan is best known for her breakout role as Rachel Zane in the legal drama “Suits,” which she starred in for seven seasons from 2011 to 2018. After marrying Prince Harry in 2018, she largely stepped back from acting, though she’s set to make a cameo as herself in the upcoming Amazon MGM comedy “Close Personal Friends” with Brie Larson and Lily Collins. Recently, she’s also hosted the Netflix lifestyle series “With Love, Meghan,” which launched her brand As Ever, and appeared as a guest judge on “MasterChef Australia.”
Harry and Meghan are expected back on U.K. soil in the coming weeks, with their young children Archie and Lilibet enrolled in school beginning in September. The move is said to be for an “extended period,” though the couple will retain their home in Montecito, California, and don’t intend to relocate their production banner Archewell or As Ever to the U.K. They will remain non-working royals after stepping down from official duties in 2020 before their move to the U.S.
