'DEADLIFT MASTER' JAYATHILAKE POWERS TO SEVENTH ASIAN CROWN

Sri Lanka’s Ransilu Jayathilake has once again written his name into the record books, lifting his way to a seventh Asian Championship title in Nepal.

Competing in the Men’s U120kg+ category at the Asian Powerlifting Championship 2025, the 34-year-old – nicknamed the “Deadlift Master” – hoisted an extraordinary 310kg to seal gold.

The three-day event, staged at the Nepal Police Club in Kathmandu and organised by NYFC Nepal alongside World Powerlifting, brought together the strongest athletes from across Asia.

For Jayathilake, the triumph not only adds another continental title to his career, but also strengthens his reputation as one of the region’s most dominant lifters.
