Venues selected for 2026 T20 World Cup matches

Three venues in Sri Lanka have been officially selected to host matches for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which the country is co-hosting with India.

The three venues approved by the ICC Executive Committee are the R. Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo, the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground, and the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

Sri Lanka Cricket is reportedly taking steps to install a new floodlight system at the SSC Ground specifically for this World Cup tournament, enabling it to host night matches.

Based on an agreement between India and Pakistan, all preliminary matches involving Pakistan will take place exclusively in Sri Lanka.

If Pakistan qualifies for the final, the championship match is also scheduled to be held at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

If two other countries qualify for the final, that match will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India.

The T20 World Cup tournament is scheduled to commence on February 7, 2026, and conclude on March 8, 2026.

Twenty teams will participate in the tournament, with 55 matches played.
