Mahanama College finished the second day of the 20th annual Battle of the Golds cricket encounter against D.S. Senanayake College in a dominant position, reaching 161 for no loss at the SSC grounds in Colombo.
D.S. Senanayake College, batting first, posted a total of 344 runs. Miyuru Bandara anchored the innings with a century, scoring 100 runs, while Randisha Bandaranayake contributed 48. Chamika Heenatigala proved the pick of the bowlers for Mahanama College, claiming 6 wickets for 102 runs.
Mahanama College openers denied the D.S. Senanayake bowlers any breakthroughs by the close of play. Sineth Weeraratne remained unbeaten on 83, whilst Dulnith Sigera ended the day on 72 not out. Mahanama College trail the first-innings total of D.S. Senanayake College by 183 runs with all ten wickets intact.
