India A win tri-series cricket tournament

India A secured the tri-series championship after defeating Sri Lanka A by 66 runs in the final held today (21) at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla.

Sri Lanka A won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, India A posted a commanding total of 377 for 9 in their 50 overs.

For India A, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a blistering innings, scoring 94 runs off just 29 balls, including 10 fours and 8 sixes. Notably, he reached his half-century in just 11 balls. Priyansh Arya contributed 39 runs, while Tilak Varma added 67 runs to strengthen the innings.

For Sri Lanka A, Ravindu Fernando took 2 wickets for 72 runs, while Vanuja Sahan also claimed 2 wickets for 39 runs.

Chasing a massive target of 378, Sri Lanka A were bowled out for 311 in 47.1 overs.

Vanuja Sahan top-scored with 62 off 69 balls, while Sadeera Samarawickrama made 52 off 44 deliveries. Vijayakanth Viyaskanth scored 39 and captain Sahan Arachchige added 38, but Sri Lanka A fell short of the target.

For India A, Yash Thakur took 3 wickets for 45 runs and Vipraj Nigam also claimed 3 wickets for 60 runs, sealing the victory for India A.
