Dinesh Chandimal has been taken to hospital for a precautionary scan after sustaining a right shoulder and neck injury while fielding on day four of the first Test against India.
The Sri Lankan batter suffered the injury while diving to prevent a boundary during the opening session. He was initially treated on the field by the team physiotherapist and medical staff before being transferred to hospital.
Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed the incident and stated that further updates on Chandimal's condition will be released once the scan results are available.
