Eight bodies found in Aranayaka this morning

Eight bodies were recovered from the landslide in Aranayaka this morning. Among them were a part of a body.

The search mission was hindered by the heavy rains.

President Maithripala Sirisena went on an inspection tour to check on people who were affected by the floods in Meethotamulla and Kolonnawa this afternoon.

The president said that he has given instructions to relevant authorities to provide solutions to their issues.

Meanwhile, Minister of Finance has advised to remove import taxes on essential items till June 30^th.
