Jewellery makers laments increasing prices of gold - expected to cross US$ 2000 (Video)

Jewellery makers point out that they have been severely affected by the collapse of the gold industry in Sri Lanka due to the fluctuating gold prices.

They call on the government to take immediate action to protect the industry.

Meanwhile, the price of an ounce of gold in the world market has now crossed the $ 1800 mark and is likely to rise further.

Gold prices have risen further due to the devaluation of the US dollar in the world market and the delay in the recovery of the global economy due to the Covid Delta variant.

Analysts predict that the price of an ounce of gold will exceed US $ 2,000 in the coming year.

The All Ceylon Jewellery makers association points out that they are in a difficult situation due to the increase in gold prices.
