On 4 December 1974, 47 years ago, a Dutch Martinair DC 08 en route to Mecca crashed into the Nortonbridge Seventh Mountain.

A memorial service for the 190 passengers and crew who died in the accident was held near the Wimalasurendra Reservoir in Nortonbridge today (04).
