A new Sinhala font named 'Ruhunu Kumari' was introduced yesterday by the 'Clean Sri Lanka' project during the launch of the Maradana railway station renovation project.
The new font, which is unique to the Railways Department, is expected to be useful for the department's future work.
Up until now, the Railways Department has used hand-drawn letters for names on railway stations and other locations.
The new 'Ruhunu Kumari' font was designed based on this hand-drawn style, which will allow the Railways Department to maintain its distinct identity while using a modern font.
