The Kumbukkana area on the Monaragala-Colombo main road is underwater, disrupting transportation.
Additionally, a bus travelling on the road was caught in a flash flood.
However, 23 passengers in the bus were rescued without harm.
The Monaragala District Disaster Management Centre advised residents in low-lying areas surrounding the Kumbukkan Oya to remain vigilant, as the water level in the river may rise further.
