Over 1000 schools impacted by disaster

Close to 1000 schools suffered damage due to the disaster situation created by Cyclone Ditwa.

A senior spokesperson from the Ministry of Education, stated that the official data reports regarding the damage would be presented soon.

Meanwhile, UNICEF stated that the bad weather affected approximately 275,000 children across the country.

Against this backdrop, it is reported that students lost textbooks and other school equipment in the floods in many disaster-affected regions. 

School buildings in numerous areas also sustained severe damage.

Education authorities currently plan to start the extended new school term on the December 16, following the delay caused by the disaster.
