A stock of narcotics seized during raids by the Police Narcotic Bureau and related to concluded cases in the Balapitiya and Chilaw courts will undergo public destruction by burning tomorrow (27). Police Headquarters states that all arrangements are finalized to carry out the destruction at 9:00 AM using a specialised incinerator located in the "Lactowatta" area of Wanathavilluwa, Puttalam.
The quantity slated for destruction includes 22.888 kg of heroin, 33.172 kg of Kerala cannabis, and 247.940 kg of local cannabis. According to Police Headquarters, these items will be transported to the incineration site under special security, departing from the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court premises at 5:00 AM and the Chilaw Magistrate’s Court premises at 7:30 AM tomorrow.
