The body of a former physiotherapist, who worked at a hospital in Ampara and resigned, was found inside a car parked near the Teldeniya Hospital, in what police suspect to be a homicide.
Teldeniya Police received information yesterday afternoon (17) regarding a woman's body inside a motor vehicle.
The deceased woman was identified as a 34-year-old resident of the Palalla, Kurundu Koratuwa area in Weligama.
Investigations revealed the woman arrived at a lodging facility in Nuwara Eliya with a man suspected to be her boyfriend two days ago.
Police suspect the boyfriend placed her body in the car that same night and drove it to the Teldeniya area yesterday morning.
The boyfriend himself placed a phone call to the Teldeniya Police to inform them about the matter, investigations further revealed.
The suspected boyfriend is a resident of the Gannoruwa area, according to the police.
No arrests have been made so far.
