The Galle Police Anti-Corruption Unit arrested a 35-year-old man on Wednesday for a sophisticated drug trafficking operation using the 'Easy Cash' mobile money system.
The Police recovered 51 grams of heroin during the raid, which was launched following a tip-off.
The suspect, a resident of Galwadugoda area in Galle, had managed to evade law enforcement over a significant period of time by utilising the digital payment system to conduct transactions discreetly.
Police confirmed that the suspect will be produced before the Galle Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
Further investigations continue into the distribution network.
