Commander of Hamas naval force killed in Gaza attack

The military says Mansour Sami Mahmoud Shahtout was killed along with two other fighters in an Israeli air raid on central Gaza on Friday.

All three fighters “were travelling in a vehicle while armed with weapons and as such posed a threat” to troops, the army added.

The naval force “operates under Hamas’s military wing and advances and directs” attacks on the military forces occupying Gaza and in Israel, it said.
