Several spells of showers may occur today in the Sabaragamuwa province and in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, the Department of Meteorology announced in a statement.
A few showers may also occur in the Western and North-Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2:00 p.m.
Mainly dry weather conditions prevail elsewhere over the island.
Fairly strong winds up to 40 to 50 kilometres per hour may occur at times over the western slopes of the central hills, North-Central province, and in the Monaragala, Puttalam, Hambantota, Trincomalee, and Mannar districts.
