Six people died and 11 others sustained injuries after a bus plunged into a river in China's southwestern Sichuan province on Wednesday.
The vehicle fell into the water after colliding with a road guardrail in Zhonggang village, located in the mountainous Baoxing county, at around 6 p.m. Local authorities released a notice regarding the incident on Thursday.
One of the injured individuals sustained serious injury but remains in a stable condition. The bus carried 17 people, which conformed to the vehicle capacity limit. Rescue efforts concluded early on Thursday, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
