Gun attack targeting 'Kudu Roshan' kills close associate

Unidentified attackers arriving in a black motor car have opened fire during a birthday party near the Kadirana Bridge in Palliyawatta, Wattala, last night (23).

The victim died shortly after admission to the Colombo National Hospital.

The victim was identified as a 39-year-old resident of Borella named Sumedha, Police said.

Gunmen have targeted alleged organised drug trafficker Kudu Roshan at the venue hosting his son's birthday party. However, the suspects have shot his close associate by mistake, according to the Police.

Police officers later found the black getaway car abandoned in Ja-Ela. A long-standing drug trafficking dispute between two rival groups triggered the shooting, the Police suspect.
