Sri Win Lanka Travels launches Canton Fair package for North East entrepreneurs

For the first time, Sri Win Lanka Travels (Pvt) Ltd will introduce a special package for entrepreneurs from Sri Lanka’s Northern and Eastern provinces to attend the Canton Fair, China’s largest and oldest international trade event, held in Guangzhou.

The biannual China Import and Export Fair showcases a vast range of products from thousands of Chinese and international companies, providing an ideal opportunity for North East entrepreneurs to establish new business connections, said Sri Indunil, Managing Director of Sri Win Lanka Travels (Pvt) Ltd.

“Through these new partnerships, entrepreneurs will be able to import products directly from China. Many northern and eastern customers have never seen or experienced these products, which can now be introduced locally,” he added.

Indunil noted that even if an entrepreneur does not immediately import products, participating in the fair provides valuable insights that can elevate existing businesses or inspire new ventures. He cited several instances where northern businessmen who attended the Canton Fair expanded their operations and opened branches in multiple locations after applying the knowledge gained.

Sri Win Lanka Travels plans to collaborate with the North East Chamber and local travel agents to brief entrepreneurs on the opportunities available.

The company annually takes around 200 visitors from Sri Lanka to the fair, all of whom have reported positive business progress. This outreach is supported through selected sub-agents across the country.

In recognition of their efforts and achievements, the company hosted a special felicitation ceremony at its head office in Hilda Place, Colombo 4, presenting valuable gifts to the participants yesterday.
