Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) recorded 30,659 aircraft movements and 4,748,481 passenger movements by mid-2026, underscoring its continued role as Sri Lanka's primary international gateway.
The airport also facilitated 424,856 transit passenger movements during the first six months of the year, highlighting its growing importance as a regional transit hub.
BIA continues to connect people, cultures and businesses while supporting tourism, trade and economic growth, further strengthening Sri Lanka's position as a leading aviation hub in the region.
