NCE connects Northern exporters with regional businesses

The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) recently conducted a regional visit to the Northern Province to connect its member exporters and service providers with regional enterprises and create opportunities for export-oriented business partnerships.

The visit brought together an NCE delegation comprising 20 member exporters and service providers for a series of business meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions in Trincomalee and Jaffna.

The programme was supported by Seylan Bank as the Exclusive Banking Partner, Smart Marine Lanka as the Exclusive Logistics Partner and Dialog Enterprise as the Exclusive Digital Partner.

The first engagement took place in Trincomalee on 21 July 2026, with a B2B meeting held at Hotel Green Garden in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Trincomalee District.

The programme continued in Jaffna on 22 July with a B2B Forum at the Conference Hall of the District Secretariat of Jaffna. The forum was organised in partnership with the Industrial Development Board (IDB), the Jaffna Manager's Forum, the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Yarlpanam and The Management Club Jaffna.

The forum was attended by Northern Province Governor Nagalingam Vethanayahan, Head of Chancery and Consul (Commerce) of the Consulate General of India in Jaffna Shri Shankaran Rajagopalan, Provincial Director (Northern) of the IDB S. Sivagangadaran and NCE President Indhra Kaushal Rajapakse, who addressed the gathering.

Around 40 regional enterprises participated in the forum, which provided a platform for businesses in the Northern Province to engage with the NCE delegation and explore potential partnerships and export market opportunities.

Following the forum, the NCE conducted a workshop for aspiring exporters at the District Secretariat of Jaffna in partnership with the Export Development Board (EDB). The session was attended by K. Kanojan, District Officer and Assistant Director of the Northern Province Office of the EDB.

The workshop covered key areas relevant to businesses seeking to enter export markets, including standards, certification and compliance requirements, logistics and transportation, banking and financial solutions, and digital and social media marketing.

The NCE said the regional visit highlighted the opportunities available in the Northern Province and the potential to further expand business and export activity in the region.
