National Savings Bank (NSB) has been recognised among the five most valuable brands in Sri Lanka in Brand Finance’s latest Sri Lanka 100 brand valuation assessment for 2026.
The recognition reinforces the strength of the state-owned bank’s brand and its longstanding customer trust, while highlighting its continued presence among the country’s leading brands.
The award was formally presented by Ruchi Gunewardene, Chairman of Brand Finance Lanka, to Dr. Harsha Cabral, PC, Chairman of NSB, and Rohana Bandara Weerakoon, Acting General Manager/CEO of NSB, at the bank’s head office in Colombo.
The presentation was also attended by Antoinette Ludowyk, Co-Founder of Echelon Media, Dulakshi Perera, AGM – Marketing, NSB, and senior representatives of the bank.
According to Brand Finance, the combined value of Sri Lanka’s top 100 brands increased by 17% to Rs. 650 billion in 2026, surpassing the previous pre-crisis peak of Rs. 630 billion recorded in 2019. The banking sector accounted for approximately 42% of the total value of the country’s top 100 brands.
NSB’s continued ranking among the five most valuable brands comes as the bank strengthens its digital capabilities and customer engagement while maintaining its traditional focus on savings, financial security and financial inclusion.
The bank has invested in digital banking, customer experience and modernised communication as part of its broader transformation, while seeking to retain the trust and accessibility associated with the NSB brand.
Dr. Harsha Cabral said the achievement represented more than a ranking, reflecting the confidence and trust built by generations of Sri Lankans in the NSB brand.
