Walala A. Rathnayake Central College has secured victory in the Under 16 Boys' 800mx4 relay event at the Hiru Relay Championship 2026, which is currently underway at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Diyagama.
Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa, secured the second place, and St. Benedict's College, Colombo, won the third place.
The tournament is entirely supported by the Hiru Media Network under the guidance of Chairman Rayynor Silva.
Organised for the fourth time by the Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the relay championship is currently being held with the participation of over 4,500 school students from across the island, covering all age categories.
