The Excise Department has announced plans to issue new liquor licenses exclusively for star-class hotels and restaurants.

Applicants must meet qualifications outlined in Excise Notifications and obtain approval from the Tourism Board. Final approval will be granted by the Minister of Finance, according to a department statement.

Currently, the issuance of liquor licenses to all retailers remains suspended, following concerns over controversies surrounding licenses issued in recent years.
