BRIBERY+COMMISSION+DG+EMPHASISES+ACCOUNTABILITY+IN+PUBLIC+SERVICE

Even if an individual does not personally benefit, causing a loss to the government constitutes an act of corruption, says Ranga Dissanayake, the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).


Addressing the second annual general meeting of the Association of Semi-Government Executive Officers in Colombo yesterday (4), he emphasised the need to build a public service that does not simply comply with politicians' demands.


The event was held at the Foundation Institute in Colombo and presided over by Dissanayake, who is also a High Court Judge.
