Over 705kg of drugs seized in Tangalle raid, lorry owners nabbed

Sri Lanka police says that the haul of drugs recovered in Tangalle yesterday (22) weighed a total of 705.174 kilogrammes.


The registered owners of the three lorries the drugs were found in have been taken into police custody from from Mount Lavinia, Elpitiya and Meetiyagoda police divisions, according to officials.


Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya described the bust in Seenimodara, Tangalle, as the largest drug seizure conducted on land to date.
