The Sri Lanka U19 women's team has secured a fantastic victory in the third T20 match against the Australian youth team.


The match, held at the Dambulla Stadium on September 24, saw Sri Lanka win by 6 wickets.


Due to morning rain, the match was decided by the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, with the Sri Lankan team reaching their target with five balls to spare.


Batting first, the Australian youth team scored 100 runs for 6 wickets in their 16-over innings.


Emily Powell (32) and Lucy Finn (31) were the top scorers for Australia.


For Sri Lanka, Aseni Thalagune and Limansa Thilakarathna were the standout bowlers, taking two wickets each.


Chasing a target of 101, the Sri Lankan team reached the winning score in just 15.1 overs, with only four wickets down.


Sanjana Kavindi led the charge with 36 runs, while Vimoksha Balasooriya (25) and an unbeaten Shashini Gimhani (17) made excellent contributions to the victory. 


Lily Hamilton was the best bowler for Australia, taking two wickets.


With this win, the Sri Lanka U19 women’s team has taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series, with two games remaining.
