K. S. T. Chanuki Akshana of Ambalangoda Dharmasoka Vidyalaya has secured fifth place in the Girls’ category at the World Hopes Table Tennis Training Camp and Tournament, organized by the World Table Tennis (WTT) Federation in Sheffield, England.

The tournament, held annually, brings together the top 20 boys and 20 girls under 12 years of age from around the world. Chanuki qualified for the global event after competing in the Asian Continental Hopes Tournament in Laos earlier this year.

Her achievement marks a significant milestone, as she is the only female player from South Asia to finish among the top five in the competition.

Chanuki was coached by her father, K. S. T. Lakshan Harshana, a well-known table tennis coach, who also accompanied her to the tournament.
