Melbourne’s most vibrant celebration of Sri Lankan culture, Lankan Fest, returns to the Crown Riverwalk on Sunday, 16 November 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., marking a major milestone — the festival’s 10th anniversary.
What began in 2015 as a modest community gathering has blossomed into one of Victoria’s leading multicultural events, now attracting more than 30,000 visitors annually.
Organised by Lankan Fest Inc. in collaboration with the Future Foundation for Kids, the festival has become a colourful platform to showcase the authentic spirit of Sri Lanka — its cuisine, music, dance, art, and heritage.
The 2025 edition promises to be the most exciting yet, featuring over 40 food and market stalls offering authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, handcrafted products, and vibrant community services.
The event will also include traditional and contemporary performances such as dance, drumming, and live bands, along with fashion showcases, cooking demos, children’s activities, and cultural exhibitions.
Through its partnership with the Future Foundation for Kids, the festival supports educational and community development projects in both Australia and Sri Lanka, reflecting a commitment to compassion and social responsibility.
Over the years, the festival has been proudly supported by the Federal Government’s Multicultural Events Partnerships, Multicultural Victoria, and the City of Melbourne through various grants and community initiatives that have helped it grow and thrive.
