The Under 19 Division I Tier 'B' Inter-School Two-Day Cricket Tournament, organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association under the patronage of Sri Lanka Cricket, will feature 18 teams, including the newly promoted St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa, and Sri Dharmaloka College, Kelaniya.

St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa, which was the champion of last year's Under 19 Division II Tier 'A' tournament, and runners-up Sri Dharmaloka College, Kelaniya, have both been promoted to the Division I Tier 'B' category.

Conversely, St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena, and Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, which participated in last year's Division I Tier 'A' One-Day tournament, have been relegated to the Tier 'B' tournament this year.

The 18 participating teams will be divided into two groups and compete in a league format during the first round, with each team playing 8 matches.

The top four teams from each group, totalling eight teams, will qualify for the Quarter-Finals.

The first round (league stage) of this two-day tournament is scheduled to conclude on January 31, 2026.

Starting from the Quarter-Finals up to the Final, matches will be played as Three-Day games. It has been made mandatory to complete five of these matches by December 31, 2025, with the Quarter-Finals slated for the first week of February.

Significantly, the tournament condition that required a player under the age of 15 to be included in the playing eleven during the recently concluded One-Day tournament has been removed for this Two-Day tournament.

The joint champions of the previous Division I Tier 'B' tournament, Thurstan College, Colombo, and Mahinda College, Galle, have both been promoted to the Division I Tier 'A' Inter-School Two-Day Cricket Tournament.

For the current season, the Champion and Runner-up teams will be promoted to the Division I Tier 'A' tournament for the next season. In a relegation round, two teams will be demoted to the Division II Tier 'A' Inter-School Two-Day Cricket Tournament.

The 18 teams are allocated into the following groups:

Group 'A': Maliyadeva College (Kurunegala), St. Joseph Vaz College (Wennappuwa), Isipathana College (Colombo), St. Sylvester’s College (Kandy), Sri Sumangala College (Panadura), Wesley College (Colombo), De Mazenod College (Kandana), St. Sebastian's College (Katuneriya), Ananda College (Colombo).

Group 'B': St. Benedict's College (Kotahena), Sri Dharmaloka College (Kelaniya), St. Thomas’ College (Matara), St. Anthony's College (Wattala), St. Anne’s College (Kurunegala), Dharmaraja College (Kandy), Devapathiraja College (Rathgama), St. Aloysius’ College (Galle), Moratu Vidyalaya (Moratuwa).
