The Indian Foreign Minister met with the Australian Prime Minister, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the sidelines of the 20th East Asia Summit.


In a post on his X account, the Indian Foreign Minister stated that it was a pleasure to meet with the Australian Prime Minister, on the sidelines of the 20th East Asia Summit.


The two leaders are said to have discussed bilateral relations between the two nations, among other issues.


Foreign media also reported that the Australian Prime Minister commented on the Quad alliance, of which both India and Australia are members.


He referred to the Quad as an "important forum" for engaging Australia, India, Japan, and the United States.


He also expressed hope that the meeting of Quad leaders would be held in the first quarter of 2026. Foreign media reported that he mentioned the Indian Prime Minister would take the lead in organizing it.
